In December 2006 it was announced that FHM will be discontinuing its United States' print edition after the March '07 issue, turning to an all digital format with the launch of FHM Online.

Money.

ANYTHING that is produced for public consumption has to maintain a particular level of profitability in order to exist.

Some companies use products which are 'loss leaders'. That is, they are NOT profitable, but they keep the product or service in the market place to keep a foot hold.

Unfortunately FHM is on a landscape with a number of VERY similar magazines (STUFF and MAXIM leapt to mind) and FHM just could not continue to compete, hence the last issue (which I bought yesterday but have not read yet).

I have every issue of STUFF, FHM and MAXIM (US editions) so it does pain me a little that the mag is gone.
