Explain your situation to your landlord and ask if they can wait until Tuesday (or Monday night) to deposit your check. If they are reasonable and as long as you don't let this happen too frequently, they will likely do this. They would rather wait the extra day and have the money in their account than have to deal with a returned check.

Also, if you give them the check on Saturday, the banks are typically closed on Sunday so most likely they won't be able to deposit it until Monday anyways.

But don't risk it by assuming they won't deposit it today--just politely let them know the situation and assure them it won't happen again.

Just tell the landlord (or attach a letter to the check) not to cash the check until Tuesday. Be honest about it. He doesn't want to deal with an NSF check either.

$50.00 is not really i big deal. You should not have any trouble with that. However, maybe your sister or a friend can lend you the money just until tuesday, Just too be on the safe side.. But $50.00 is not really a big deal.

Good Luck

It could be tough. You should have budgeted better. Or maybe not spent $50 on beer and pizza.

If the person who receives your "hot" check banks at the same bank as you, the check will bounce.
