More info. is needed, but the problem with a lot of PC's these days is that they have a couple different ways to control sound and volume...this causes confusion. On my laptop for instance, there are three ways to control the sound. Anyway, try the following...I'm assuming you don't have external speakers or you would have hopefully said 'no sound from speakers'. Check for all the possible volume controls. On laptops and desktops there are now sometimes volume controls on the keyboards. Make sure it is on/turned up/not muted. Now do the same for your monitor...yes, some monitors now have volume controls. Mine at work has one on the bottom of the monitor....just a slide. Ok, now look at your screen and see where the control is there. It's usually on the bottom right hand corner and looks like a speaker or sometimes a ball looking thing. Click it and make sure it's on/turned up/not muted. If you're watching something in Windows Media or Quicktime etc.., make sure the volume is turned up there too. If none of that works, I would recommend you see if ANY sounds come from your PC...like when you turn it off and turn it on. If not, you may need to go to your control panel (click start in the bottom left of your screen/ then settings / then control panel). There will be a control for sounds/audio/volume...something like that. Go in there and make sure everything is activated/not muted. Also make sure the sound configuration is accurate. It may say it is piping sound to speakers you don't have etc... this is easy. If none of that works. You may have a problem with your sound card, but again, I'd need more info. Good luck!

I had a problem with my pc like this too. If there is a mute button on the key board, press it. If thats not the problem, go tho the back of the tower. There should be three colored holes. The green one should be sound. Unplug it and blow into the hole. Dust get caught in those places. It shoud work. If not, smash it.

Sound card may be disabled in the BIOS. I've had it happen a couple of times before for no reason.

Try replacing the speakers. This happened to me and when I checked them out, my cat had chewed the cords. You can get them cheap.
