The starter is located either on the left or right side of the motor under the exhaust manifold bolted into the trans bellhousing

the starter is on the passengerside ,but are you sure that is what is wrong with it.if i was you i would see if you can bypass the silinoid,which is located on the driversside close to the batterey.trace your positive cable it will lead you to the silinoid.they tend to go out on fords a lot .they only cost maby $7.00 and are very easy to change out as long as you remember where all the wires go.if the bypass starts your car that means,that your silinoid is bad.
