Chopper - Song of the Surfer.
I'm (nominally) an adult, married, kids, job, house, the lot but it still brings a lump to my throat at the end.
Even though I've got comics worth a hell of a lot more if I could only grab one it would probably be that one.
Just don't ask me to choose between it and my wife!!!

PLENTY of collections of Batman comics exist. If you're referring to the earliest Batman comics from the '30s and '40s, then yes, several collections exist. Detective Comics was the book in which he first appeared, so why wouldn't you want that? Look for Batman Archives, Vol. 1. Several other collections of those comics exist.

It would be a REPRINT of AVENGERS #141 featuring the first appearance of Patsy Walker who eventually became the superheroine Hellcat at the end of the story arc. (They fought against the Squadron Supreme!)

I have comics valued at hundreds of dollars but I pick this issue for sentimental reasons. This is the FIRST comicbook I ever read written in English! (I'm a Filipino.) The pulse-pounding story and George Perez art also ignited in me a latent love for reading in general and English comicbooks in particular. If it were not for this seminal influence, I don't think I'd begin seeking out and reading them, whether in original or reprinted format. I still have those reprints (30 years old this year!).

The comic from my collection I wouldn't give up would be a batman album I got from my dad. It's from the 1970's and it features the first appearance of Ra's Al Guhl.

I like hoganmann's answer because I have the same book and I treasure that one as well but I would have to say my Spawn #1 that I had signed by Todd McFarland after waiting in line for 4 hours at FAO Schwartz in NYC to meet him and to get my book signed

Tintin. Its fabulously drawn, and it has a good plot- Its a European comic and the authors Herge, its about a guy named Tintin doing "Indiana Jones" adventures with his dog Snowy. Sounds childish but it really isnt.

I'd have to go with the first Keith Giffen/JM DeMatties/Kevin Maguire Justice League trade paperback.
