Okay, I'm thinking that a lot of people are probably like myself. We allow our hearts AND minds to lead us and guide us in our decision-making. But, if you had to CHOOSE between the two, which would you trust most to get you through this thing called LIFE?
(Also, please tell me the reason for your choice.)

I would say heart.
You may not be able to avoid troubles, but you would experience life to the fullest.
Sometimes our mind gets in the way and tells us something is not safe or that we have nothing to gain by helping someone.¨
Both our Mind and Heart gets bigger with use, but we usually use the heart less than the brain, and look at the results we get?

You may be thinking a lot right now, but let me tell you: We ALL use our heart (emotions). If we all used our brains (mind), we would ALL prevent any more Global Warming in our companies, we would read books instead of going to clubs, we would stop going to church and instead focus on elongating our life by studying more science and medicine. We would all exercise every day and NOT eat fast food. We would ALL take care of homeless children and people. We would be good to EVERYONE. We would grow our own fruits and vegetables. We would all buy only what is necessary, and not give in to fashions or "what people think."

Your mind will lead you into a culturally inadequate lifestyle, but it can lead you to a financial and physical and eduactional and nutritional better place.

But your mind will lead you to pleasure-seeking and even marriage and religion.

We ALL follow our hearts more. We do it to fit in. If we used our mind to love we would pick anyone and say, "Hey. I like you. I want to stay with you for the rest of my life with you. I want to grow a family with you (or not). And if the other person agrees that would be it. No but's, and's, or if's.

The heart; when we let the mind lead, we make decisions and act on them, using logic and reasoning. This method works very well, ASSUMING you have all the facts at your disposal. Since this is usually true only in logic puzzles and brainteasers, you are better of following your heart, rather than decisions based on incomplete knowledge.

I could sit on the fence here and argue that listening to your 'heart' means following your subconscious thinking, which is just a part of your mind that is doing calculations and interpreting patterns at a speed that you cannot imagine in conscious thought. But i won't :D

The Egyptians used to throw away the brain during the mummification process because they believed it was used for nothing. They felt all processes stemmed from the heart. They didn't do too badly either. They wanted to live forever and through preserving their much loved culture, may very well have found a way.

I however, am not interested in living forever. Maybe that's because I choose to lead more with my mind than my heart.

The heart is just a metaphor for love, compassion, and any other emotion catering to someone else. The mind is rational and sees through most of the BS. I'd say it's circumstantial.

Our emotions and thoughts feed into each other. I'd say I use a good conjunction of the two. But, I wouldn't confuse my thought process with chemicals of reproduction and such "butterflies in the stomach".

Don't allow the heart to rule over your decisions. The heart is the emotions and can be very deceived. Use your mind and go for much counsel. Seek older people who you see have made it through very hard times gracefully.
Source: The Bible (our user's manual) that says that there is wisdom in much counsel.

I let my heart lead me in most decisions; the mind, while extremely useful, has a tendency to often over analyze a situation (the "what if" syndrome, I call it.)
When both agree, you really know you're doing the right thing.

I can't decide. I have to say both. You need both of them to get through life okay. Without your heart, you don't have feelings or know if you love some one or not. therefor, you might not be able to have a boyfriend or get married. But you need a mind too so people can't trick you into diong things thats illegal and stuff.

you should always go with your heart, if you live with just your mind you will end up lonely surrounded by books and diploma's. you need to live life with risks, without risks then life isnt worth living.
your heart will lead you to love, lust, fun, excitement. possible to hurt, pain as well.
its all a matter of what YOU think. if you want to think about everything and live life far away from any edge then mind is the way to go

When it comes to making decisions, and dealing with life, i feel that it takes listening to both your mind and your heart. i feel that it takes both.thoughts go through your mind and then to your heart and the heart knows best and it puts that into your mind. sometimes its not always the right decision but then you feel that in your mind and in your heart and you make it better . go with both
