NO!!! Americans are Americans no mater what the color of your skin or shape of your nose or color of your hair!!!, if you were born here you should refer to yourself as a AMERICAN first then you can call yourself what ever you want after that as long as it doesn't drag the rest of us down to your level of confusion about what you are.

Since you have blue eyes and blond hair is it obvious you are of Norweigen decent, they must state their origin to avoid confusion.

Well, you'd be an European-American then. I don't understand the Afro American thing. How do blacks from the Carrabean living in American classify themselves?

Then I'm a Dutch, Finish, Spanish, Italian, Swedish, German, British, French, Scottish, Irish American. I'm not joking. Say it when you refer to my people, and say it with respect.

you could, if your Norweigen heritage is important to you,,,,,,,the African Americans i believe do this in order to honor their heritage that was taken away from them (threw slavery),, other groups do this partly to be distinguished from visitors,,,, such as Japanese Americans ,,,,

Try it, but I think African-American is only used to try to stop people using nasty names for black folk in America. As far as I know there are no derogatory names for Norweigan-Americans, so I can't really see the point.
