My wife and I have a sure fire idea for all that have the same problem and it only takes a second to do and NO more lost socks. When you take off the socks and go to put them in the laundry, simply put a safety pin in the toe, heel, top or someplace on the pair and you will never have another lost sock.

Love the missing socks I think some times they get stuck in the other clothes and you will find them later. But the best thing I ever heard is that all missing socks and gloves go to Heaven and when you die you are presented them in a box and you can spend eternity sorting them out.

You need to upgrade your security system, apparently it has been breached and someone has been stealing half a pair of socks.
No, really...if you use a lingerie bag, or a pin (as the other answerer suggested) you will always have a complete pair. As for all of the missing socks in the past: if someone happens to find a Doc Marten black and white wool sock, could you let me know? It was my favorite pair at the time. *sigh*

There are little sock gnobes that come out when you're not looking and take just one sock. They bring it to the forest and burry it, never to be seen again.
