Generally, shop time costs about $65 an hour which pays the owner's costs and technician's wage. Some diagnostic time may be needed to locate the problem. The shop may apply some of the diagnostic costs you incurr to your final bill if you end up having the problem fixed at their shop. The cost of diagnostic time may be worth the money if you have a tough performance problem to solve. Some shops may simply start replacing parts hoping to fix the problem, but in the meantime, the problem's not being fixed and you may not have use of the car which costs you money. After the true problem has been diagnosed and located, the cost of repair will be quoted to you as labor plus parts costs which typically are half and half respectively of the total cost. Many states require that the shop does not deviate more than (say) 10% of the quoted repair cost unless they first call you for authorization to proceed at a higher cost.

it depends upon what is wrong.
call the ford dealership ;ask how much too put it on their machines; and you want it in writing. Also instruct them if it is more than fifty dollars of quoted price not to proceed till they consult with you... I always get three estimates and a dealership usually has a warranty. ASK FOR ONR AND GET IT IN WRITING(lol) please) make sure it is a reputable dealership that has been in business for a while.
I have a trusted mechanic that i go too.......
It is difficult when you are a woman to find one that isfair to a woman. That is such a shame. Because it gives the good guys a bad name tooo.................
Call around the ford men you know and ask.
Surely it shouldn't be too much for a 92 model
get a book at autozone on 92 read about your auto. if they dont have it they can get it for you Good luck.
Been there too..............
