A group of people that got sick of being called black or colored so they came up with something they thought wasn't derogatory. Never mind the fact that they haven't been part of Africa for 5 generations. I don't call myself English-American. I was born in America as were my parents. My grandparents were born in England, but like I said I don't want to be called English-American. I'm American. I'm sick of the PC world, let's just get back to reality already.

I agree with WhoDidThat's response. I've long grown tired of all this political-correctness that demands black Americans be termed as African Americans. Sensitivity is one thing, but common sense is another.

Many whites live in Africa and continue to do so. What happens when one of them comes to America and becomes a naturalized citizen? Are they African Americans? Not so in the opinions of overly-sensitive blacks about their ancestral origins.

Should I call myself an European-American simply because my paternal roots originate from England? It's silly and so is all the political-correctness that hangs on like a vulture on a limb.

Think it's a lot of BS, I'm from Norway but I don't refer to myself as Norwegian American. Come on we are all Americans. The only true Americans are the Natives of this land.

Of course the Black Americans - those whose roots are trace to the land of Africa. I'm proud to be one of them. Are you black too? Cheers and have a nice week-end.
