A quote:
"In the midst of death, we are in life!"
So... Enjoy it! (if you are able to).
We can only find the meaning in our own lives by ourselves, because we all have a different experience of life.
We CAN meaning in our lives, whatever it is! Is doesn't have to be a mind-blowingly big thing. It can be a just a personal little thing, like looking after a pet, or our little sister our elderly father, or our hobby or whatever is important to us.
So make the most of it! Life doesn't last long!
And help other people make the most of their lives if you can, cos we are a community and as they say in South Africa - 'ubuntu' - which means "i am, because you are" or "i can only be me because other people make this possible".
There is a book called 'Man's search for meaning' by Viktor E. Frankl, which explores the meaning of a persons life... it it a bit harrowing because he is a Nazi concentration camp survivor... but he talks about the meaning of life and how it might be found even in such extreme and evil circumstances.

Dictionary.com says life is...
1. the condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects and dead organisms, being manifested by growth through metabolism, reproduction, and the power of adaptation to environment through changes originating internally.
2. the sum of the distinguishing phenomena of organisms, esp. metabolism, growth, reproduction, and adaptation to environment.
3. the animate existence or period of animate existence of an individual: to risk one's life; a short life and a merry one.
4. a corresponding state, existence, or principle of existence conceived of as belonging to the soul: eternal life.
5. the general or universal condition of human existence: Too bad, but life is like that.
6. any specified period of animate existence: a man in middle life.
7. the period of existence, activity, or effectiveness of something inanimate, as a machine, lease, or play: The life of the car may be ten years.
8. a living being: Several lives were lost.
9. living things collectively: the hope of discovering life on other planets; insect life.
10. a particular aspect of existence: He enjoys an active physical life.
(there were more but didn't want to overload you with them)
I'm personally stll looking for the meaning of my own life... think everyone's is different..
P.S. 42 is the Answer to "the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything" and is NOT therefore, necessarily the answer to the meaning of life, UNLESS the ulitimate question of life, the universe and everything is "what is the meaning of life?"
So 42 is NOT the answer :)

There is no meaning. You are born then you get old and die. End of story.
There are many seriously deluded people out there who believe in religions of all denominations but unfortunately there is not an ounce of proof that any of them exist.
Try reading Richard Dawkin's excellent book The God Delusion. It is to the 21st century what the bible was to the dark ages.

Life – it has a meaning and loving purpose - you just have to find your purpose and live it.
I believe every person is here for a definite purpose. Each person is special and valuable; that refers to me, you, your family, friends, in fact everybody! There is a loving plan for each of our lives here on earth and there is no such thing as coincidence. I don't believe that anything in life happens by chance and that every aspect of our lives points to something deeper.
You need to decide now to live for God rather than for yourself. You spend your life on Earth preparing yourself (as best you can) for death. I don't see death as a scary, negative experience, but birth into a bliss filled eternal life with God. I believe that this is something you have to consciously choose or not during your life on earth.
The meaning of life is for us to discover that we are true children of an infinitely loving and merciful God, to find out what our responsibilities are to our Creator, and to fulfill those responsibilities. Each of us is called to affirm, accept and develop the talents God has given us. -

To imagine that there is some meaning to our mysterious existence is the height of perverse thinking! Religious institutes enshrined in the so called books{especially those which spring the Middle East. the bible . the koran and the torah} are creations of people wanting to bind an individual to total enslavement of their minds}, and they fail to tell you that human beings have no say in their fate, and that all Human Actions happen despite ourselves and certainly N OT because of our endeavour. When one realises this truth we become truly civilised and we become one with NATURE and UNIVERSE-thus achieving total liberation of our lives from bondage. Many thanks.
