I think everyone is familiar with the horrific atrocities being commited by the Chinese against what used to be once the sovereign nation of Tibet. According to rough U.N. estimates:
"Over 17% of Tibetans killed since Chinese invasion, over 6,500 monasteries destroyed - Genocide and torture by the Chinese continues." I fail to see how how a guy like Saddam who killed 142 shias warranted the invasion of Iraq and his subsequent execution while in Tibet 17% of its population is wiped off the faced of this earth and China doesnt even make it to the 'axis of evil list'. On the contrary they are awarded the olympics and billions of dollars of U.S. foreign investment. Is it me or is something seriously wrong with the world's so called Powers?. The video posted below is just one of many examples of how the Tibets are killed when fleeing Chinese rule which are being commited at an alarming rate unfortunately.

In today's world, might makes right. China has a growing economy, over 10% GDP, the fastest growing economy in the world. USA and Europe are making billion dollar investments in China because they foresee the sharp economic growth there. Thus might makes right. All of the moral lessons we all had learned in school are merely means to get us to behave and to respect the mighty. Or else.

I dont necessarily agree with the argument that we 'owe' them money. What they have gone in and done with our U.S. economy is quite evil and genius at the same time. They have started buying off Government debt that the U.S. government had sold to the American Public in the form of securities(transferred the owndership of title). They (China and Japan) by doing this they have pumped more dollars into the U.S. economy with the sole aim to weaken it. The affects of this havent exactly been pleasant. The price of everything including oil has ended up rising as a result of our currency now not being as valuable as it was before. I call it economic terrorism. Ofcourse China would argue that they are trying to maintain a "stable exchange rates" against the U.S. dollar to "help us both." see link below. But no ones buyin it.! To quote U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow "China's exchange rate policy is obviously "mischief." The sad part is the U.S. govt cant even do anything to stop this mainly because the dollar is a freely tradable currency and partly because the Govt. was probably all too eager to rid itself of the liabillity it owes to someone else. The cycnic in me believes that George started this war partly with the intent and aim to spend billions of U.S. dollars to take it out of the economy and bring some of its value back. As to why Tibetans will have to continue to suffer is exactly as one of the above posters said . "Might is right"!!.

The US appears to be using China to move Iran into stopping the nukes. We are also asking china to interact with Noirth Korea on the nukes. Some feel that we are risking alot in trusting China. We may need to use diplomacy with caution here. China is not our friend. Human life in a gift and everyone is an UNREPATABLE gift from God

China has too many people and we owe them too much money to pick on them. Atrocities abound in this world and the US has made some mistakes too. Practicality dictates we try and get along with them because we could not defeat them in a war. Oh we could kill about 40% of them but they could still overrun us. Live with the reality that the US is no longer number one in the world.

They did not make it because of the massive amount of debt we owe China, who, if they wished could call it in and bankrupt this country. And for point of note, Saddam killed far more than 142 shias. His chemical attackes agaisnt the Kurds in the early 80's killed 10's of thousands.

Although the methods are cruel, communist China has to keep its nation together. compared to the 19k killed by one of Qin Shi Huang Di's orders, nowadays Chinese rulers have gotten less cruel. Also, China aren't exactly terrorists for they don't stimulate terror in people to cause chaos but to prevent it. China does not plan to conquer more than China. I think President Bush realized his mistake in labelling other countries. I don't like what China does at all, but there's still a lot of good people living there, and categorizing a country labels everyone in it.
