Definately Oden. I think Durant is better right now but Oden is playing with 1 hand. Come tournament time, everyone will see what Oden can really do. Durant is more of a big SF than a true big man. Durant likes to shoot from outside like Nick Fazekas but NBA teams look for true big men, big men that can shoot just get a little star next to their name.
Plus, Oden plays way better defense and as long as he can play D on talented big men, teams will go after him.

This year's draft definently Durant. That guy will come in and make an impact right away. This kid can score like no other and he is so athletic it's crazy to just watch him. Also Durant may get better and that is just scary to think about. So If I was a GM with the number one pick (Boston Celtics) It would definently be Durant. My personal opinion is that Oden should stay in school for a couple more years to polish up on his game. If he comes out this year it would hurt him. There is a 50-50 chance he will be good. But if he stays in school and polishes up then when he comes out he will be able to start right away for a team and immediately help them out. Right now I see Oden as a Lamarcus Aldridge. Big Body but way too soft... They both need to get a killer instinct in them and watching Texas games Durant has that now. Oden will be a better player in the long run but right now it's Durant for sure.

Oden Oden Oden... sorry but he is a beast on the defense and once he is 100% his offensive game will be unstoppable. He is tall, fast, quick, and strong. He also has some decent post moves. The sky is the limit. Durant is good too but I'm a little worried about his strength at the next level.

I would say Durant. He can obviously come into a team and be ready to make an enourmous offensive contribution. He's the first guy I've ever seen put up 30+ in a college game (8 minutes less than the pros) like it's nothing.
I just think that Oden needs some time to polish his offensive game. Granted, he still isn't playing with his right hand, but he struggles to score sometimes.

Probably Oden because most of the teams at the bottom need a big man. However, say Milwaukee collapses and got the 1st pick, they would take Durant, because they just picked Bogut and have their center. No one takes it from them... However, if Oden stays in college, (Durant won't), Joakim Noah will get consideration because most of the teams at the bottom need a big man. Oden is seriously considering staying in school.

Its probably because Durant truly is better than LeBron. The media often tends to d*ck-ride LeBron and say that hes the best player in the world, the undisputed mvp, etc. But in reality Durant is the better player. I believe that LeBron robbed Durant of mvp both this year AND last year. And your whole "LeBron could take his team to the finals with a weaker team" argument is kind of invalid. LeBron throughout his entire career played for the EAST. The Eastern conference is signifacntly weaker than the western conference, its a proven fact. In 07, the only team that was really HARD to beat was probably the Pistons. The other teams LeBron beat were kind of easy. Its also unfair for you to say "Kevin Durant can't even bring the Thunder to the finals". As I said earlier, its very hard to win in the west, both in the regular and post season. Memphis is actually looking like a strong favorite to win it ALL this year. With that being said, how could you penalize Durant and the Thunder for not beating a title-contending team when they don't have their star player? Also, just to let you know, the series is not over yet. There are 8 teams that have came back from a 3-1 defecit, OKC actually might be one of them (considering that they lost game 3 buy a bit in OT and game 7 would be played in OKC). I guess we'll have to find out.

In my opinion I think durant because Oden will come back to show what he can do with 2 100% wrists.

Oden is a safe pick. He is compared to be the next David Robinson. He has a great personality as well.
Durant has the more upside. It's like when Don Nelson drafting Nowitzki and compare him to the next Larry Bird, people are laughing. Then Joe D. drafted Milicic and hoping to get the same result. Who's laughing now?
Everytime you go into draft, you always roll a dice.

looks as if durants game with his good footwork will suit a big forward position much like kg where he can capitalize on mismatches on the switch or post-ups while odens defensive skills will fit him better in the post where they can funnel to him for blocks, and keep him in good postion to rebound and call out picks...would depend on what the needs for the first team drafting are, but my guess is that both of these young men will be good professionals if they stay healthy
