This girl has the uncontrollable impulse to pray for the opposite of what she wants sometimes. She's not praying to anyone in particular- she just prays. And she thinks there's a supernatural force which will make these prayers come true. She says this supernatural force is controlled by anyone who believes it.

She also says sometimes when she looks at a person- including a stranger- her intuition tells her what the person would think of her or what they would say to her. When she looked at a picture of someone in an ad in the internet- her intuition said the person in the ad would call her a lunatic.(her mind was feeling troubled that day) And once when she was using public transportation-when she looked at a high school girl(a stranger) who was sitting near her- her intuition told her the girl would make fun of her- like if she was in her class or such. She's wondering if her intuition is true or not. Is it?

It sounds like maybe this girl is experiencing some stress from things going on in her life. Maybe by telling these things to you, she is asking for help.

If she's still in school, you can offer to go to the school counselor with her. If she's out of school, call United Way. The number is listed with information or can be found in the front section of your local phone book. United Way can give phone numbers for counseling from licensed clinical therapist or psychologist that would be based on income (or sliding scale fee).

If your friend feels these intuitions might cause her to hurt herself or others, please call 911 and get immediate help.

Help is available for your friend. There is no need for her to continue suffering like this. These intuitions are signs of mental health issues. If your friend had a broken arm, you'd get her to a doctor. Mental or emotional health issues are no different. She told you for a reason. She trusts you and needs your help.

sounds like she created her own religion. a core belief system that seems to explain her life and it's values. as for her intuition... to me it's seems a bit like paranoia...as she believes others will think the worse of her, or cause her some harm. her self esteem seems low and she should seek some professional counseling. she is probably not crazy, just seeing the world different from maybe you and i.
as far as controlling supernatural forces, i don't think so. her form of prayer is a quirky superstition, that her dreams or expectations will be unfulfilled and that whatever comes from them (her prayers) is a blessing. she seems to be in serious trouble emotionally...be a friend not a doctor, you aren't qualified.
here are two definitions for you.
1. supernatural - the unexplained and uncommon occurrences.
2. superstition - the belief that the outcome of things (avoidance of bad luck/having good luck), can be determined, if a certain ritual or steps are taken.
these are just two basic definitions, but maybe they will help explain to you, that each word does not mean something to be afraid of. do your own thing and do not take on any of her beliefs or issues.

I in simple terms had a feeling the finished time i became into pregnant with my son. while my husband annouced "it somewhat is a boy!" at his beginning, I pronounced "I figured" :) Now i'm pregnant with #2, and that i'm confident that we are able to have all boys. This being pregnant has been the choice of my son's - yet i'm nonetheless confident it somewhat is a boy besides. i think we will see while the little one gets right here!

This girl should get psychiatric help. I mean that in a good way. She sounds like she could have a very serious psychiatric disorder. She should go to the guidance counselor at school and speak to that person. I hope that this girls parents have good health insurance. She needs medications.

Looks like this girl is into wishin' (intuition) she knew the answers. Does she? I think not.

Maybe she just listened to Jewel sing about Intuition and really took it to heart.

No. You are confusing intuition with paranoia. There may be some serious issues here.

She may also need to get a grip on reality and lighten up.
