I do not have the money to speak to a person in psychology but I would like to know if online there is somoene with experience in psychology that I can to them about it. To see why I am having these problems and what I need to one day overcome it entirely and get on with my life.

Hi,
I don't have any experience in psychology, besides personal experiences, but i don't think a psychologist will help alot. While they can show you paths to take, they may also make you feel as though they are the only paths. Once you here what a psychologist has to say about you, you may label yourself with that. Its hard to explain. I think talking, no matter to whom it is, will help. Whether they are a psychologist or not.

Depending on where you live there should be some form of free counselling.

I hope you are okay, i know what its like to be in a dark space, if you need any help, just messge me.

Hello SG,

I understand your financial difficulties, but if you have psychological problems I would definitely not recommend talking to an anonymous stranger online, even if they do have a background in psychology. A reputable psychologist will not counsel over the internet becuase it is not ethical or necessarily very helpful without face to face contact, and it is impossible to psychologically evaluate for mental illness online.

That said, there are lots of free counselling services avaliable out there from reputable mental health practitioners, and there are probably some avaliable in your community. If you are enrolled in an educational institution, there are most likely some avaliable on campus. If not, if you live in the USA visit http://mentalhealth.samhsa.gov/hotlines/ for hotlines you can call for a referral to a counselling service in your area. If in Canada, contact your provincial/territorial Health & Social Services office. Good Luck!

Careful with this request. You already know that there are issues that should be dealt with, but I would caution you picking or talking to just anyone who doesn't have the proper education and knowledge on how to help you through these issues. There are agencies, like Community Mental Health in most states and counties, that will charge you according to your ability to pay. Good for you to recognize the need to resolve your issues, but you really don't want to engage in open disclosures with someone who doesn't have the knowledge on how to help. Some people may mean well, but this might be a dangerous mix and may make things worse for you. You could even call your local state welfare office to see what resouces are available to you at little or not cost. Ask others in your area for resources in individual therapy. Some areas even have groups you can attend. You might start there--but do start somewhere. If you feel like you might harm yourself-please go to the nearest emergency room, or call a crisis hot line. All areas have them in the phone book- You can even call the police, but the fact that you are asking tells me your are a smart individual, and know that many people care about you and want you to feel better. Please call someone even if it is a friend, relative, neighbor or your boss, there is help out there for you- Good luck!

If you cannot visit a specialist, I do not know how you can overcome entirely your problems.

People, kind, loving, good to listening to you, may help you a lot just to make you feel a little better. Rely on people you love and discuss with someone you trust and believe she or he cares for you. Yet, if your problem is making your living that difficult try to find professional help because maybe you need medical treatment as well.

For a start, feel free to talk to one who loves you and cares for you. Together, you will find the right solution for you.

I wish you all the luck.

I don't know about where you live but in my state there is multiple options for people in your position. One is to get on welfare and see a psychologist that is paid for by welfare. Two there may be free clinics in your area where you can go and get psychological treatment. Three if you are really feeling like you can't go on living this way you can check yourself into a crisis center and they will get you into an inpatient facility ASAP.

try using google "online mental health counseling". ask for credentials, making sure you have some one who is at least a licensed clinical therapist or psychologist.

call United Way, number through information or listed in the front section of your phone book, for a list of counselors that would even be able to see you sliding scale or based on your income. united way is free to use and confidential.

if you have a local university in your area that offers a psychology degree, often times they have a clinic costing usually only a few dollars, allowing their students (with supervision of a licensed clinical psychiatrist) to see you.

if you are employed, chances are your company has an Employee Assistance Program toll free number, that will be free and totally confidential to use. you will get a set number of sessions free and they can give you referrals to those in your area that are low cost or based on your income.

also, if you apply for adult medicaid through your local county agency, even if you don't qualify, they will give you a referral to a clinic or hospital, based on your income. your local county mental health (listed in the phone book) can do the same.

hopes this helps. best to you.

Very sorry to hear about your problems. I dealt with many years of (suicidal) depression before I finally found peace. I did it on my own without a psychologist. It is possible to get over it, and you'll look back wondering how it was ever that bad. I hope you find that peace. Feel free to message me if you need to talk.

Hi.

I don't really like to recommend people, but a guy named Steve Pavlina has done a series of podcasts to make a better life. I think you should read some of his articles and listen to some of his podcasts. You can put them in iTunes and set them on your Ipod. And if no Ipod, you can put them on your computer, or your MP3 player.
