I am American, and although I don't see a problem with most other countries, I still love this one the best.
Army Brat, Army wife
and for this country we've given our life.
Some will love, some will hate
But for the land of the free, I'll accept my fate!

As another member of "US", as well as someone who has been fortunate enough to spend considerable time outside the United States, my loyalty and love of country lies here. I spent four years in the Navy and was in the Persian Gulf during both Desert Storm and Desert Shield ('91 & '93). I had an opportunity to witness what "life" is like in many other countries; countries with healthy economies and countries in which its citizens struggle daily just to put food on the table. With all of our "problems" and all of the inconveniences that our "new Big Brother" has placed on us, this country, America, is still the best and the only place that I would live my life and raise my family.
This country has, if you choose to "see" it, more beauty, culture, "freedom", cultural diversity and advantages to the people who live here than any other country in the world.
People often combine the "Political Immorality" and "Big Business" attrocities that have such an impact on the lives of many millions of others throughout the world with the "true essence" and "nature" of what this country is really about. We cannot deny that our country has done many bad things, nor should we try. Most often it is the lessons we learn from our major mistakes that help us to grow and be stronger for it. Unfortunately, those who are "vicitms" of our "mistakes" and governmental disregard for the people whose lives those "mistakes" affect, will not look at this country the same way that "we" do. Honestly, how could we blame them. Throughout history, our country has done some pretty terrible things to other countries and to our own citizens. Hopefully, enough of us will recognize, remember and learn from those things that so many would rather forget and pass on to our children the values and ideals that make this country great. One of the greatest things about this country is the freedom to choose your own "values and ideals". That is the principle that founded this country. That is what so many men and women have died fighting to protect. That is what we should pass on to our children; because, it will be "they" who determine the future of not only our country, but, the future of our Planet as well. For all of "our" faults, there are so many more qualities that make America the best place on Earth to live; and you just gotta love that.

Well, I live here but, your only "free" as long as you can pay your taxes and bills. And with all the help going to foreigners, and not american citizens, it's not that easy. America is not like it used to be.

The land of the free has more people in prison than any other country on earth, citizens who believe everything and question nothing, and soldiers who would do anything to avoid a court martial.

I think those that hate us are mostly jealous of our success, face it we have prospered in a lot of ways other countries can only dream of. An I don't think we owe these countries an excuse for it . or anything else. the only one we owe thanks to is god for blessing this country like he has, an hope he continues to in spite of how a lot of Americans behave these days.
