By manager, you mean agent. Every actor and actress has an agent that takes care of personal business and contracts. If you are serious, you should go to top film schools like NYU, USC, or UCLA. Not only could you learn the business at those schools, but also you could make valuable contacts. As far as being an agent, acting talent is not important yet lawyer talent is. Most agents have law degrees.

Do you mean Talent Manager or Talent Agent? They are not the same. Talent Managers (also know as a Personal Manager) guide the career of actors.

Most Talent Managers specialize in guiding the career of children and assisting the parent in finding the right Talent Agent for the child actor.

Some actors, such as Actress Halle Barre, have a Talent Manager. Halle and her Manager, co-produce her acting projects. Her manager is "hands on" and completely involved in guiding her acting career.

A Talent Agent represents actors and submits them to casting directors to audition for various acting projects. (A Talent Agent works on commission and gets 10% from the money made by the actor.)
