Isn't it annoying? I personally feel sorry for Goths, they must have a hell of a time! It kind of depends on the knit of the fabric and the type of fabric. Cotton for instance forms small recessed squares in it's weave and it clings to other fabrics, including bits of fluff and dust. Silk is completely the opposite with a flat weave and repellent properties. Try some fabric conditioner and some plastic washing balls one will alter the behaviour of your fabric and the other will knock out fluff gatherings, one of those smooth velvet clothes brushes helps too, once the clothing is dry.

I assume you are washing all your VERY dark colours and blacks separately from your white and light colours?
There is a BLACK WASH product you can buy from Tesco s that helps a lot for the black to remain black.
Always remember to empty pockets, tissues are the worse nightmare with a black wash. Do not think its because you have a new machine, could be your washing powder, they put "Fillers" in with them so much these days, tried liquid rather then powder?
Other wise I give up! Good luck.

Because it picks up anything left behind by previous washes !! I also find that black clothes often dry with white soap marks. The only way I know to avoid both of these things happening is to wash the items inside out and don't quite fill the machine to give the water plenty of space to circulate.

if you turn your clothes outside in you wont have this problem, especially with your nice jumper´s , they get fluff on them & start to look old rather than new , but if you wash them reverse they will stay as new.

I don't think black clothes are any worse than any other colour, they just show it more. That's why black cars seem to get dirty quicker.
