My ex-husband was involved in Amway. There are some people who make a decent living at it, but they appear to be in the minority. His involvement with it reminded me of a cult. Every spare moment was devoted to Amway 'parties' during which unsuspecting party-goers would have to sit through an Amway pitch before being allowed to eat or drink anything (all of which was Amway stuff). If we (then just he) weren't at a 'party' we were at a 'conference' at which one or two fortunate souls who've made it talk about how wonderful it is. On the surface this doesn't sound so harmful, but there was definite pressure from the up-line to only associate with people who were also Amway or had the potential to become Amway (cult).
If you can escape the pressure I described above and treat it as a part time gig with no pressure to suck people in to a pyramid, the products (while expensive) are of good quality.
I did learn one really valuable lesson from one of the speakers at one of those conferences, though. He kept saying, "action cures fear." He's right. I have applied it successfully to my personal life (thus the EX-husband) and to my business life (not Amway).

well frankl;y speaking not only emway but all the networking business is a big scrap.i have done networking for 3-4 companies(including emway)
first of all you cant excel in this business if you take it as part time.you must give it full time to excel to a good level.
secondaly you are enetring in this business at very late stage.emway is in india for more than 10 yrs now.and most of the people(who can be attracted to this business and been made distributor)have already joined emway.
then the products are so costly that leave selling it to others.even you cant use it at your home.
then if someone told u that just make 4-5 members once and then just forget.and your 4-5 members will make members by themselves and so on the chain will go on,then thats the biggest bull ****,you will have to work full time and continously for years to keep your chain growing.so there are many problems with this business..but as u said that you have joined ,then i would suggest you to try it.because you have already invested money.perhaps u have good contacts and good convincing power.all the best

Amway is a good business. I used to be in Amway, but I really like Mannatech better. You will get negative answers from people who have never succeeded with it or who have only heard hear say....
Just make sure you know that it is a four to five year commitment with a willingness to serve others, to be teachable, coachable, and hard working sales efforts. Your success depends upon you developing these skills.

My dad did that years and years ago. It is great if you are the bigger of the todem pole. The people who are distributors really have to work really really hard and for awhile it may seem like you don't reep the rewards of all your hard work that all the money goes to those over you. But if you are willing to stick with it later it will pay off. My brother in law worked for the Amway company here in Michigan for 27 years and one day they just let him go for no apparent reason. So if you are willing to put yourself out there and do loads of mingling and selling of your products and are great with people and can basically get a woman wearing white gloves to buy a catsup popsicle (a line borrowed from the infamous Tommy Boy) than it will turn out great. Good luck

Some people make a lot of money selling Amway. It is a widely known product and almost everyone can use it. Like any business, it take a lot of effort and time to build it up. Like any MLM business, most people give up and don't make it.

as said the market for amway is ofcourse saturated and everybody know abt it,
bt wht they are missing is that population keeps churning with new people, if you are young it will be easier to get success as younger ppl are nt much aware of these things.
most ppl do loose money bt there are also ppl who make money.
well to sum up.. u need luck more than anything else, its much like a lottery

OMG, you should have asked something about it BEFORE joining.
Get out while you can. Otherwise you'll be losing more money.
And please e-mail me or someone else in here who says it is a scam before joining anybody. You'll be spammed in here and out there in the real world, and almost everyone. There are people whose business is scamming people.
Please, ask before joining any of them. To at least 10 people.

It is a great way to.....flush all your money down the toilet.
99% of all distributors lose money.
Plus, you get an added bonus. All of your friends and family will avoid you like the plague once they find out.
