Love
Love is a basic dimension of human experience that is variously conveyed as a sense of tender affection, an intense attraction, the foundation of intimacy and good interpersonal chemistry, willing self-sacrifice on behalf of another, and as an ineffable sense of affinity or connection to nature, other living beings, or even that which is unseen. It manifests itself in feelings, emotion, behavior, thoughts, perception and attitude. It influences, underlies and defines major patterns in interpersonal relationships and self-identification.

I think it's our advances in the field of medicine. We do things now that people 50 years ago would say is impossible. Brain surgery, organ transplants, all the different meds that are out there. Modern medicine and procedures are giving people a second chance at life, when 50 years ago it would have taken it. And the great thing is, we keep advancing. I'm certain some day there will be a cure for cancer, and aids...and maybe even ways to lesson the effects of genetic diseases or eliminate them completely before the baby is born.

I believe that communication cannot be considered as an achievement just as sight and sound would also not be. It's our nature to communicate and we have that ability and it took no effort to acheive it. ( if you don't believe me as a 1 year old baby ). Our greatest achievement is probably the mapping of the human genome and probably will be until we master the forces of gravity or time.
