The Rise And Fall Of Reginald Perrin...the hippo joke paled a little after the fiftieth time...and that awful children's programme called Ker-ching where they put the canned laughter on even if someone's just said 'hello'...anything with canned laughter is an insult to the viewer it's like holding a banner up saying 'THIS IS FUNNY-LAUGH!'

'Last of the Summer WIne is without doubt the worst programme EVER made. How it keeps going I really don't know. My parents used to watch this. All the characters are so awful and it seems that now they are trying to revive it by casting any old 'ex-soapstar' to get some ratings. I sound like I watch this drivel but I assure you I am only commenting based on the trailers I have seen.
Bring back Richard Briers and Michael Gambon in 'The Other One'...... sheer class.

"Hope & Faith" is freaking awful. It's painful to watch.
I really like Scrubs. I think it's quite funny. Not so much a Sit-Com though.
I really liked Friends when it was on. It's been over played too much now though. & because it's on so much, it just keeps reminding me how unfunny some of the early storylines were (series 1 -3)
Has anyone ever seen Coupling (British version, not American) I really like it. Only the first 3 series though, not the last one (that was pretty bad)

Ahhhahahaha! I remember "Who's The Boss", the only good things about that show were the redhead Mother (Katherine something?) and Tony Danza's "so thick you sould carve it" accent!
Sadly, I think the Americans are far better at sitcoms than we are now, we used to be good back in the 60's and 70's (apart from "Love Thy Neighbour") but we seem to have lost the ability now. Tis a pity.

Have to agree with My Family here.
Also Desperate Housewives, Friends, In Loving Memory, The Green Green Grass (did there need to be a spin off from Only Fools and Horses?) and Dinnerladies.

Plenty to choose from. Had blocked Duty Free from my memory - thanks for the reminder! :oD
On balance, I'd say it has to be "Love Thy Neighbour". Horrendous dose of 1970s tosh, the central 'joke' of which was a white family suddenly having a black familiy as neighbours. Appears to have been nothing more than an interracial slanging match with added dodgy laughter. Hateful waste of life, essentially, which was actively unpleasant, as opposed to the passive mediocrity of Duty Free or Who's The Boss...

Love thy Neighbour just by virtue of being really offensive. On the Buses and Mind Your Language were utterly horrible as well.
They almost make you want to watch that pretend hopeless one When the Buzzer Goes or whatever it was called off Extras.

The American version of "Man About the House" was dire. Made to amuse the average retarded 12 year old. Anyone else remember it.

I think I'm the only person in the world to hate Friends. To me, it just really wasn't funny. Actually come to think of it, I don't really like many of the American sitcoms, probably because I can relate more to British humour. I do, however, like Sex And The City.

Sorry I know this is not a sitcom but it reminds me or 'Richard Bacon's Rent Free' - it was so bad I just had to watch it every week....in disbelief. Totally addictive
