No. It shouldn't be banned. You should seek equality of both genders, not the denigration of men. Otherwise, you're just as bad as the patriarchal men who oppressed women for so long.

Are you serious?!? How can someone who feels that any gender should be respected, whether it is male, or female, come out and say that one is better than the other? First of all the holiday isn't "Man-Day" its "Fathers-Day", and just like "Mothers-Day", it is to recognize all the things that fathers do. Furthermore, I think that your opinion that men should not be celebrated or treated with respect is just idiotic. Are you that hypocritical as to suggest that it is OK for you to crap on all that is man, because years ago you think that men crapped on all that is woman? Isn't that the exact same behavior that put you in this present mindset?
How about this, we keep both Mothers Day, and Fathers Day, and we make another holiday altogether to help you feel "celebrated and respected". We can call it Hypocritical bigot day, and you can get all the attention you think that you deserve.

um, no i think it should NOT be banned. there is a mother's day so there should be a father's day. um...and it is YOUR decision to treat your man like a "king". that is all you. and honestly...a man got you into this world...you should celebrate and threat that with respect. you mihgt be having some big scene with the men-kind but that doesnt mean they dont deserve respect. that is just how i feel.
and there is that men and women are equal thing....you have just shot that down, almost as the men are doing/have been doing it.
and it is NOY celebrating manhood, it is celebrate FATHERHOOD. hence the name Father's Day.
now, i'm not trying to be rude or a b*tch or anything, but i am just trying to get my point accross.
i hope i havent offended or hurt any body.

nicely, the Scottish are dopey- typically, there is only about continually some male figure little ones ought to make a Father's Day card for. Grandfathers, Uncles, acquaintances of kin, etc. on the different hand, if making Father's Day playing cards motives issues in lecture rooms, i am going to't imagine instructors who may pick to flow ahead and make playing cards.

Wow, you must have had some bad experiences with men. I do appologize for you. I have had some magnificent men in my life, and consider myself fortunate. I do not think Father's day should be banned whatsoever. My reasoning is simple, because of men like my brother and father. My brother's girlfriend left him with two children because she found a lover online and went to California to be with them. One of the children was not his, by blood, and he filed for legal custody of both children anyway. Working a minimum wage job took on the role of mother and father for these children. Now she's back and they're fighting for custody of children she hasn't seen for 6 years.
My father played the role of mother and father throughout the early years of my life while he took care of his ailing mother. My mother worked second shift and he worked first shift, so they were a great team, but she even states he had to deal with more from us kids then she did.
So, there are good men out there who deserve to celebrate the fact that they are fathers. True fathers who care for their families and step - up to be men when they are needed.

I was proud of my wife's education, which surpassed mine. I even helped do some of her projects. We had a good marriage, no cheating or beating, and she knew she was the most important thing in my life. She had our child and when she died of cancer, she knew that I would take the responsibility of raising her and telling her what her mother was like. The child is now a woman with a successful career and I couldn't be happier. I was a good husband and father. My late wife's father was a good husband and father. My father was a good husband and father.
You, however, are a gender bigot.

Sure ban it. But, it won't change anything for the people that want to celebrate it.
But, wouldn't it be easier for you to not celebrate it yourself rather than start a grass roots effort to try to ban it?
What is there to ban and how would you enforce it?
Would you make card's illegal if they said "father's day", remove it from the Calender, forbid children from visiting the father that day, outlaw hugging one day a year?
STUPID question!

If you hate your daddy that much, just tell him so. I believe we are all equal so my opinion is that you are prejudiced against men, maybe for a good reason, but it is a generalisation all the same. Maybe we should ban both & just include the mother in a childs birthday celebration, it's her pain that brought the child into the world.

No, swapping one gender bias for another is just as bad as the one that was in place to begin with! It's one day, and both mothers and fathers have to put a great deal of effort into raising a child, so having days to honour their love and committment is great!

You know, men have done some pretty shitty stuff to women. However, I think we need a day to honor our father's. After all, there is a day to honor mothers.
