I'm German and I don't think anything special about English people. I was in England once for an English course for 2 weeks when I was 12 years old and lived in a family there who was very nice and met only nice people, and that was my only personal experience with English people. I'm sure that like everywhere there are also many people I would not like. My mother adores England, she was in London for studies for a semester and always says what a great time that was and everytime the Queen is on TV she has to watch it. She was in the British zone after the war as a child and it seems they made a great impression on her, and I think she exaggerates because I don't believe there is such a thing as a wonderful great perfect nation, but I also don't think anything bad, so basically I think the UK is just a country like others.

They probably don't bother to think about us, they have their own problems.
If they do squeeze in a thought , they would admire our brilliance, good taste, our sense of fair play, our transport system;-) our congestion charges that bring in all that money (hey wait, ), where did that go anyway?) the way we never moan.
Gosh,I really mustn't eat cheese when I get back so late from the nightclub...

probably that the english are a complete joke and are being dictated to by minorities in their society. i would think that if i were either french or german, which i'm not

i live in germany and when i ask the shop assisants ,doctors or anyone if they can speak english some of them get a bit funny with me.jealousy perhaps!!
