Define "most historical".
From Anthropology's perspective, the first civilization appeared on the Indian subcontinent, followed by Thailand and Australia. There is abundant history in every country, but the question is how many years are you going back and what criteria are you considering?
My personal favorite is Greece, just because we have the most documentation on them and they've had the most flourish throughout the ages. But I could make a wonderful case for the history of Thailand as being one of the most interesting.

If this is an essay question, smack you teacher for being too vague... if you mean oldest then try China, Iraq or Egypt ... all 5000+ years of existence
And PEACHY... to retort...
If I had to pick a most historical country, though, it would be my own U.S.A. We pioneered more stuff than anyone... by far, in the past century.
- If you are only looking at the past century then it is useless... and many of the most important inventions of this century were not American ... TV, Phone (I know it's 1800's), Internet, and a score of medical treatments ...
We bailed out more helpless, hopeless countries from doom... by far, than any other country.
- Again... The US has caused almost as many wars as any other country on the planet ... and bailing out... I assume all you are speaking of is France in WW2. Maybe you can count Korea.
We've led the way in medical treatments... by far, than any other country.
- again ... many countries have had many more medical advancements that the US... Scandanavian nations, UK, Canada... I would go into the US lead role in Biological warfare... but for some reason I am ranting already.
I could go on and on, but I don't want to appear predjudiced. Facts are facts, though.
- calling something a fact does not make it so. The US has dome some great things... but has not done any more than any other country in the way of improving the world it just seems like it has because so many inventions are coopted by them ... I am sure someone already has claimed that the phone was invented by an American... but he wasn't ...

Britain - after all they don't call it great for nothing
As well as ruling over the largest empire the world had ever seen (around a quarter of the world), this tiny island was instrumental in a number of important historical events from Boadicea to signing the magna carta, the industrial revolution and the creation of colonies in the americas, this country has seen a lot.
We also make a fine cup of tea.

Most countries in Western Europe have at least 1000 years of history you can easily see, vast gothic cathedrals, medieval towns, baroque masterpieces, neo-classical piazzas. Italy (especially Rome) and Greece are the two main ones though - Rome has everything you could wish for in history, from the first beginings of civilization to the present day - you could probably stand in one spot in Rome and see everything by only turning around.
Other places of note would be Iran, Iraq (before the Baghdad museum was sacked, certainly), China, India, Egypt, Britain - not just England, which by the way IS different to Britain, Scotland has lots of stone-age sites for instance and of course there's stonehenge - there are many places you could go to.

It probably depends on whether you mean unrecorded history or written history. If unrecorded human history, I would quess it must be Africa. If recorded it might be Iran. The story of the King/God Gilgamesh dates as far back as 1700 BCE and it portrays an advanced civilization. Of course it is more legend than history but it was a long time before people wanted to record history in a factual fashion. Hopefully, if you are really interested, you might get replies better informed than I am. Meanwhile read a modern translation of Gilgamesh. It is good reading.

Too vague a question. Many countries have tons of history. You need to narrow it down to an era and what type of history you want. As an earlier poster mentioned, Great Britain (England and GB are not the same thing) has been one of the major players in history during the past thousand years. If I had to pick a most historical country, though, it would be my own U.S.A. We pioneered more stuff than anyone... by far, in the past century. We bailed out more helpless, hopeless countries from doom... by far, than any other country. We've led the way in medical treatments... by far, than any other country. Egypt, One of the World Wonders that Have Survived
Peru, The Remains of the Incas left for years
Philippines, the old churches left behind by the Spanish after the colonial rule
France, The Versailles left a trace that France was once a wealthy city.
That's all I can think of...

Each country has its own rich history. Read as many history books as you can and even if you did you will never tell which one is the so called most historical counry. Some of them have 4000 years of history and some have only 200 years like the US. So I definitely wouldn't say the US is one of those most historical ones, sorry. :-)
