Everyone knows that when a pawn gets to the other side to the board, it becomes any other piece right? (usually a queen). Well lets say you chose queen. When you get the queen, does it take the pawns place or does it start where the queen starts at the beginning of the game?

The queen, or whichever piece is chosen, is placed where the pawn was just placed. For example, if the pawn has just been placed on the last row of a column, you whichever piece you want, and place that piece where you just put the pawn. Then, obviously, you take the pawn off the board.

It takes the pawns place, and you dont have to take a queen, nor is it usually a queen. Your queen is your strongest piece so it's probably the best to take back depending on the situation.. but it isn't "usually a queen".
& it doesnt go back to where it starts from once again, it starts where the pawn is traded.
