If you've read the book, you'll know that Harry didn't want Voldemort to use anybody he (Harry) loved to get to Harry...like in the second book, he had already used Ginny because Voldemort knew Harry had this "saving people thing" and he would definitely do down into the Chamber of Secrets to try and rescue her. And then there was Sirius, Voldemort used him in the vision Harry had to lure him into the Department of Mysteries...and he could use Ginny again...thats why Harry is trying to distance himself for people he loves, so they wont become targets for Voldemort..
