I want to know because there seems to be millions wasted on studies into the enviroment, then goverments that pay for the studies say there is not the money to do anything about what the studies find. We know global warming is real and happening and we MUST do something to stop it but why waste the money confirming what we already know rather than trying to do something? Why do we seem to have an idea that its not our problem that we should wait for someone else to act?

Please read the question properly the aptly named jackass. I was asking why we were wasting money on studies instead of spending it on reducing our polutants. I KNOW its important but the studies have been done the know why they just dont seem to be doing anything about it.

As you have read-We needed the studies to find out just how bad things really are and that costs major bucks. Now we need to try to solve the problem(s) and that will cost more the I care to think about. The money is there but just not being used in this area-fund a war mostly.
We need to do the right things and not screw up the planet more "but what" is the key here.
Big industry is a major lobby in D.C. and they won't stop their way of business easily.
I sent a message to the major news stations suggesting that we plant millions of "Broad leaf trees"-there used to be huge forrest acrossed this country at one time but construction put an end to them. Trees are great and will they solve the problem? No! but they will help. Read up on them and you'll get the idea. Sometimes a simple ans. can have a big impact.

There are still many different opinions about "the cause" of global warming. No1 is shure what's really causing it. As a matter a fact, it could be several factors influencing it.

I agree, millions are spent reasearching it, but at least, people are trying to find the answer. Just imagine if we just stood there and do nothing.

What we're trying to find out is...what's really influencing it more.

Yes, there could be other priorities at hand, but Democrocy has it's faults too. So, if some1 comes up with a radical idea to change our political system, maybe we could do something else or concentrate our cientists on other things. I would recommend a "Guiness book of Discoveries" maybe that would incentivate people to research even more. :)

We need to try to understand what the future conditions may be like in order to minimize the impact of the changes. You say we "MUST do something to stop it" but it's by no means clear what, if anything, can be done. Doing the WRONG things might make matters worse. We have a long record of doing the wrong things in response to environmental concerns. Let's not add to it.

Allot of people are convinced that since Mars has Global warming
http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/mars_ice-age_031208.html
and that no one lives on Mars. If this is true something is going on that the media is not telling us about and we have to figgure out what that is.

We are doing things about global warming, all of our spray cans have changed they used to contain CFC's but billions of dollars were spent getting rid of them.

Billions have been spent in trying to create cars that use less fossil fuels.

New types of power plants have been created.

We are doing tons to stop a problem that is happening naturally on mars.

Gotta spend it on something.

The US gov. has a tradition of having several billion or two 'unaccounted for' in the budget.
