Not everyone hates sharks, fortunately. But many people have been brought up with movies like jaws, deep blue and because of that hollywood crap think that sharks are killers whose sole intent is to kill people. Which his quite false... The media goes on a frenzy eveytime a shark looks at someone funny, and will try and make any shark event more "dramatic" to make things more interresting.There are relatively few attacks on people and they usually happen when people are bugging sharks, surfing / swimming on a hunting ground (yes because its a good idea to surf arround seals in a great white's habitat), or feeding the sharks... Funny how eveyone pays attention when there is a shark attack and they say it is the most horrible thing that someone was bitten, when you look at the evening news and you know you're going to hear who got shot/stabbed/rapped by people and these events happen all the time. Why worry about sharks when you should be worried about people. Sharks have more to worry about us than we have about them they have been arround for ages yet humans are fishing them at an alarming rate, some estimate that up to 200 million sharks are killed each year if this keeps up they may not be arround for that much longer.

Most people do not hate sharks. Most people are not bothered about sharks and seldom think about them from one month to the next. There is nothing to hate about sharks, they just get on with doing what sharks do. Very occasionally a shark will bite a human but that is because we go into the shark's territory, sharks don't come looking for us.

Not everyone hates sharks, but the people that do is only because they're scared of them. All these movies like for ex: Jaws creates peoples fears. Next to that a lot of people hate sharks because they are dangerous and will eat you =]

What is so awesome to learn about sharks? I happen to know some things about sharks and they aren't special in any way. They are just cold bloded pedatores, that occasionally attack people without reason. They are feared = they are hated. Kinda easy to understand

Sharks are designed to be effective killers. it really is how they have developed. for sure, this means enormous enamel, quick swimming, etc. That freaks human beings out, and they don't worry to seem previous any of that. although, no longer everyone hates sharks. don't be so quick to generalize.

I think it is because of the movies. I remember when I was six, after watching Jaws, I was afraid swimming because I fear there might be a shark in the pool.
