cant remember the name of a show that used to be on ages ago! help?

it was like a time travel thing and the episode i remember is when the man finds a lottery ticket and tries to mek it a winning one by going back in time or something? and i think it used to be on channel 1/ 2. any ideas?

Sounds like It's "Time Trax" (1993)
A "time cop" from the future travelled back to his past (our present) to round up a bunch of escaped criminals.

There was a thing called "Crime Traveller" or something. It was about a couple of cops who travelled back a few days or even hours to solve crimes. I think he did the thing with buying a lottery ticket with the winning numbers on but when he came back into the future he didn't have it any more.

If you are talking about TV shows, there have been several over the years. The most recent I believe was "Quantum Leap."

That dealt with a scientist that discovered that time was like a rope or filament that could be bent back on itself, and where it touched you could jump across time.

The problem was, they couldn't control where it met, and he kept jumping around time. They concluded that "God" was controlling the warping in order to correct problems in the past so they would not compound themselves in the future.

The main character was Dr. Beckett (Scott Bakula) and Al (Dean Stockwell) an assistant that was able to holograph himself into that time frame.

The last episode resolved that Dr. Beckett was really controlling where he went, though unknowingly, and kind of implied that HE was god or an angel of some sort.

In the distant past, 60's there was one called the Time Machine. I remember some about it, but not the characters or the premise
