It depends what is being offerred to you. Sometimes you can get a really low fee, most of the time banks charge a pretty big fee to exchange the money for you. Some travel agencies carry money for you to exchange as well, or you can go to credit union type places, they can usually exchange money for you as well.

You can look around a little to get the lowest fee there is. Credit cards and ATMs are usually the least expensive way to go as far as fees. But, if the exchange looks like it going to be working against you, meaning your currency is getting weaker, you should consider getting some before the exchange gets worse.

You might be better just bringing an ATM card or two. The banks usually give the best exchange rate.

Do a little shopping around for the right ATM - some of them charge a lot of money.

change it in your own bank but if you have credit cards but some money of them and use them over there you get the best exchange rate dont go over your credit limit
