What are the causes of rectal bleeding?
Many diseases and conditions can cause rectal bleeding. Common causes include anal fissures, hemorrhoids, cancers and polyps of the rectum and colon, diverticulosis, abnormal blood vessels (angiodysplasia), ulcerative colitis, ulcerative proctitis, Crohn's colitis, infectious colitis, ischemic colitis, and Meckel’s diverticula.
Mostly are minor ailments and all can be treated, but you should see a GP just to get checked out . Good Luck

Seriously all cases of anal bleeding should be investigated buy a doctor....you might just have a fissure A crack in the skin...or you might have piles...varicose viens that become thin and bleed.
You might have soemthing worse like bowel cancer and noiw is the time to get it checked out.

Bright red blood is probably hemarroid but if they continue for more than a week see a physician. Dark red (tarry) blood is not good see a physician today. If the blood is fresh, it could come from hemorrhoids (if you have), or a colon cancer ,or some tumor growth in the lower gastrointestinal tract(large intestine, rectum and anus). or it could be intestinal parasite like hookworm, or it could be a fissure in your anus when you're having constipation.
If the blood is not fresh anymore (chocolate colored feces), the blood may have come from the mouth or esophagus, stomach or small intestine . If you are not sure where it is coming from, you should go to the doctor for correct diagnosis. Good if the problem is not lifethreatening, but if it is, see your doctor.

Not harmful in itself but could be a sign of something else. Usually it's piles but could be something else. Go and see your GP and have it checked out. Doctors see these things every day so no need to be embarrassed. Better be embarrassed for 2 minutes to a stranger than suffer in silence I always say.

Go to the doctor. Could be caused by a number of things... diarrehea, hemmroids(sp), irritation from a hard bowel movement or the sign of something more severe.
