I own a shop and have worked on vehicles all my life. I am particle to Chevrolet's, and own several older ones. I see what comes through the shop, and we just don't get many Toyota's to work on. This tells me Toyota makes a solid vehicle. I have to be honest with you, and this is the order in which we get vehicles to work on. Ford vehicles keep us in business, meaning we work on them all the time. Second would be General Motors vehicles, and then Chrysler. Toyota is at the very last, and I know there are a lot of Toyota's on the road. I hate to have to admit this, but if I were going to purchase a new vehicle, I'm 100% sure I would purchase a Toyota pick up truck.
Glad I could help out, good luck!!!

I would take Chevy, it's American made and easier to buy parts for. With Toyota the parts have to be shipped from there over sea's factories.

No contest...Toyota...I have been driving them for many years. No problems.. I have had chevys also and all had problems and were almost worthless after 5 years. Most toyotas are made in North America now and they hold their value.

I bought the Chevy Aveo because I like its styling and because the price was considerably less. After 23000 miles I haven't had occasion to regret the decision.

I like to support Americans, so I buy American. Have driven Ford's for years....currently own 1988 Taurus: 198,000 miles & still going strong. 1998 Taurus: 117,000 miles, zero problems with only routine maintenace. 1995 F-150: 108,000 miles, does whatever I ask it to do. 1995 Harley: 37,000 miles, what a motorcycle!!
