about ppreparing for mcse?

i have currently joined as a desktop eng in hindustan computers in mumbai. i am handling ddesktop ,win98,winxp,win2000prof , win 2003server. assembling of motherboard, vidoeconferencing and projector, configuring msoutlook 2003. if i have know all this then can i start perparing for mcse. exam. or still i should continue working on desktop and servers till1yr and after that mcse.can you guide me
