Depression is something that all of us go through at some point in our lives. You are no different.Yes,mind altering drugs sometimes will get you out of your "funk" on a short time basis. The problems we have all experianced is the addictive part of these drugs. We get into a belief that this is the only thing that will cure us.We watch the clock until, hoping, that the time will fly so we can take another pill to make us feel better again. This situation now becomes a dependantcy on that pill, and, thinking that it is the ONLY thing that will make us feel better. MIND OVER MATTER is really the key.We tend to dwell on the fact that we are "sick." Believe it,or not there IS A LIGHT AT THE END OF THIS TUNNEL YOU ARE IN.Instead of dwelling on how bad you have it (look around you, there so many people that live a full life with much more serious problems than you have) so, try to tell yourself THAT YOU WILL GET BETTER,AND,LIFE REALLY IS WORTH LIVING.That you can function on your own and overcome this affliction that has you tied in knots.YOU CAN BE THAT STRONG PERSON,THE ONE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE,AND,CAN BE. Secret is that you CAN overcome this if you believe it.Physical exercise is good, reading is a mind distracting tactic. You have to make your mind and body WANT to get better. You are the only one that can control this.Give it a try; you WILL get out of this funk you are currently in,Respectfully Submitted, Rev. Terry R. Bovey (boveyt@yahoo.com).

Pranayama is my wonderful way. Asana is helpful because it makes paranayama more sustainable for longer time. Prema, dharma, ahimsa, all help to create shanti. Two truths I live by are I believe in myself and I advance towards truly knowing God. I have begun to experience that God loves me no matter what I do or don't do. Instead of empty mind, how would it be with you to choose a mantra or affirmation that fills the mind with Truth. I am Light, I am Love, I am Om...... whatever you can begin to feel and know that is Life sustainning. You might want to consider if a more sattvic diet may be helpful to you too.

I remember that book. The parents were selected for a child and the child already had a name. I do not know how I would feel. I like the idea of giving my child his/her name. Of course I would love them the same even if I hated their name....

most depressions and mental illnesses are caused by failure to accept reality, and failure to see things as they really are.
