Go to your city hall and ask them. They usually have lists of things you can do to help out. Senior citizens always need something done and the city hall should know who they are.

It's not certain places that you look for to get in your community service if you're a senior in high school that needs to get in their hours. If that's your case, anything from shoveling a neighbors driveway to picking up trash on the sidewalks or street side count. I found a lot of community service hours helping clean up after local football games and basketball games. I actually got 8.5 hours for helping 5 times. It's simple and all you have to do is pick up bottles and popcorn boxes/bags. Also, if you go to your local city building, they offer community service opportunities there shredding papers, putting papers into files, stuffing envelopes and helping with the mail process. Community service opportunities are all over, in Akron or anywhere else.

I 'm sure your county or city has information they will give you where help is needed. Give them a call. There are always seniors who need rides to and from dialysis treatments, to doctor's appointments, etc.

At Christmas time, there's the Christmas mother's, Angel Trees, etc.
