IF YOU DELETE THIS WITHOUT READING IT YOU HAVE NO HEART...

BUT IF YOU FIND YOU CANNOT STOP UNTIL YOU REACH THE END THEN YOU MUST HAVE A
VERY BIG
HEART...

Mommy.. Johnny brought a gun to school,

He told his friends that it was cool,

And when he pulled the trigger back,

It shot with a great crack.

Mommy, I was a good girl, I did What I was told,

I went to school, I got straight A's, I even got the gold!

But Mommy, when I went to school that day,

I never said good-bye,

I'm sorry Mommy, I had to go, But Mommy, please don't cry.

When Johnny shot the gun, He hit me and another,

And all because Johnny, Got the gun from his older brother.

Mommy, please tell Daddy; That I love him very much,

And please tell Zack; my boyfriend; That it wasn't just a crush.

And tell my little sister; That she is the only one now,

And tell my dear sweet grandmother; I'll be waiting for her now,

And tell my wonderful friends; That they always were the best;

Mommy, I'm not the first, I'm no better than the rest.

: Mommy, tell my teachers; I won't show up for class,

And never to forget this, And please don't let this pass.

Mommy, why'd it have to be me? No one deserves this,

Mommy, warn the others, Mommy I left without a kiss.

And Mommy tell the doctors; I know they really did try,

I think I even saw a doctor, Trying not to cry.

Mommy, I'm slowly dying, With a bullet in my chest,

But Mommy please remember, I'm in heaven with the rest.

Mommy I ran as fast as I could,

When I heard that crack, Mommy, listen to me if you would,

I wanted to go to college, I wanted to try things that were new,

I guess I'm not going with Daddy, On that trip to the new zoo

I wanted to get married, I wanted to have a kid,

I wanted to be an actress, Mommy, I wanted to live.

But Mommy I must go now, The time is getting late,

Mommy, tell my Zack, I'm sorry but I had to cancel the date.

I love you Mommy, I always have, I know; you know it's true,

And Mommy all I wanted to say is, "Mommy, I love you."

****In Memory of The Columbine Students Who Were Lost****

Please if you would,

Pass this around,

I'd be happy if you could,

Don't smash this on the ground.

If you pass this on,

Maybe people will cry,

Just keep this in your heart,

For the people who didn't get to say "Good-bye".

Now you have 2 choices,

1) Pass this on, and show people you care, repost as "Try Not To Cry"
2) Dont send it, and you have just proven how cold-hearted you really are

I've gotten about 50 versions of this same thing. By not resending it to everyone does not mean I'm cold-hearted, it's one thing to watch the news and laugh at the people dying and a completely other thing to keep junk out of people's inboxes. I watch the news and I hate the bad things that happen in the world, but I'm not going to pass an e-mail around that has 50 other versions.

Didn't quite cry, but very sad. I did cry when it happened. I'm saving the poem before someone reports it as spam, which is a shame but will probably happen. Thank you for sharing it.

Edited to add that Joey up above me does have a point about the emotional blackmail, and about moving on and learning from the past rather than dwelling on it. Still saving the poem, though.

This touched me an brought a tear to my eye. Maybe I'm just getting old. It reminded me of a poem in which a child dies from abuse. That poem was in the first person like this. That poem was like the voice for all the children that have been victims of abuse. So sad.

i understand that what happened was wrong. but people need to move on..im sure these negative last moments of their life is not how they wud want to be remebered. dwelling on negativity never fixed anything...
i dnt like these kind of messages because their intentions dont seem like they are in the right place... "ur cold hearted" "u better read this"...it feels a little off to me... like their just trying to be sensational.. what gud will it do if i make myself myserable over the past? it is better if i just try to make the world a better place for peopel to live in now ♥

Sad but no tears. Nearly, they were welling as I imagined the mothers of those babies reading this but they didn't flow. It is a lovely sentiment but a tad on the cheesy side. No offense.

i enjoyed the poem (i'm a writer) i sympathise with the families who lost someone, but i will not forward it, not because i'm cold hearted but because i dont believe hitting people over the head and trying to "force " them to do something from guilt is the way to go . we must each keep our humanity in whatever way spirit directs us to, God bless.
