None at all...series and parallel refer to DC voltage as a rule..
All AC circuits are "parallel"....(at the same voltage as the overall circuit) series means 12v+12v+12v+12v=48 volt

The terms series and parallel are used for BOTH, ac and dc.
In your home nearly all appliances are connected in parallel.
Lights on a christmas tree are an exception. They are in series. Thats why, when you remove one lightbulb, all the others turn off too. Also extension cords are in series with whatever is connected to them. And of course the electricity counter is in series with all your appliances.

Only devices I have ever seen with series wiring contain heating elements (one with different heat settings) and motorized devices with different speed settings such as a fan.
