I thought that everyone had to take Maths at standard grade. Realistically, if you failed Maths at standard grade then you are not going to be a doctor. You can take Maths and Science subjects at college and apply for medical school in the usual way. But it will count against you that you did not pass them the first time around. There may be a good reason why you didn't but it seems that you are setting your sights too high. Not everyone can become a doctor.

While it is perfectly possible to go on to further education and get the necessary qualifications, competition to do medicine is very tough and good Universities unfortunately don't like to see multiple attempts before success in any compulsory subjects. If you did not even get standard grade maths and science at school, achieving the needed Highers or A-levels will most certainly be an uphill struggle. If it is your dream and you feel you can succeed by all means go for it (and the best of luck), but be realistic. There is more to medicine than being a doctor. Go to your careers department and find out what other openings are more suited to your academic qualifications and interests.
There are very many careers you can follow which will help your fellow man and give you immense personal satisfaction.
Best wishes for the future. (Incidentally, it is a very interesting question - don't put yourself down!)

Depends what country you are in - the best would be to speak to colleges or hospitals in your area. In our country you can start working at a hospital from the age of 16. You get all the scruffy things to do like making the beds and cleaning the bed pans - the pay isn't that great either - but you start learning things. This way you get in touch with the people who now and you get experience. Than you can go to private colleges if you do not get a university degree. And internship is also easier because you've got some experience.
My advice - keep following your dream - nothing in life is for free. If you study hard and the doors doesn't open - study some more. Go on the web, get more options and ideas. Get all the info you can from different colleges, home study options etc.
Good Luck!

Are you in the UK? If so, I think you need good grades in Maths and Science at GCSE (at least Bs) and you need to get pretty high A Level grades - again B's or A's. If your GCSEs aren't great, you can retake them at uni. My sister wants to get into medicine and it's really competitive so they look for people with the best grades. Of course, determination is good, but you have to be realistic - they want more than that. Good luck!

No I don't think you need to do them at high school. In fact it would show them how determined you are to be one.Go for it and I hope you get to be a doctor one day.
Good luck
