Sorry no answer really here for me. I loved my mother in law. And was very devastated when she passed away. She was never ever mean to me.

Anytime that you have two women competing for the attention of a male, it's gonna get nasty...especially if one of them is the mother of the male in question. That brings the "maternal instinct" into play, and things can get ugly quick.
Just human nature.
