I was watching Discovery, and they know have several homes that are completely computerized. Said this will be the home that my great grandchildren will live in. My daughter knew more about computers at the age of 3 than some people in their 30's, 40s, or older and over half of her school work is done by computer and she is only 11 years old. I go for computer training every year for my company, whether I need it or not because new things come up everyday.
So, to answer your question, yes computer knowledge will be useful in future life. Without it you will be the one working pumping gas at some gas store. Without it there will be no future jobs. Without it there is no hope for advancement at work.

yes, computer knowledge will be very very useful in future life because now the world developing most due to only computer.what work we had to do in 10 days by the type writer but now we can do that work with in some minutes.so human being got the save of time.by save of time we will do most tricfull work .so like by this the whole world growing very fastly.

Yes of course. Wherever, whenever you go u have to have atleast basic knowledge of computers. This is the knowledge which will not go waste.
