I watched "Little Miss Sunshine" last night. It's funny and charming in a really off-beat kind of way. It does have a lot of bad language in it, so it's not for kids, but otherwise a very good movie.
Last week I saw "The Illusionist" which was a great mystery that I didn't figure out ahead of time, and it has a nice romance in it, too. I highly recommend it!

Can't really be sure of what to suggest to you, cos I don't exactly know what type of movies you'd like.
but i'm guessing you've never watched a lot of east asian films before. just from the top of my head, I suggest you try to watch "Battle Royale" (surely you won't be bored) or maybe, "Oldboy" (again, you won't be bored I promise.) though, you gain the problem of finding a copy of these movies.
Best thing I can suggest though, is you register at Flixster. Love that site. I got to watch a lot of movies I never thought I'd like, based on reviews by members with the same taste as you have. If your a serious movie buff, I strongly suggest you try it there.
visit my page if you'd like. ^_^

You probably weren't thinking along the lines of old movies, but why not try a classic? Watch "The Birds" by Alfred Hitchcock.
Also, the movie "Little Miss Sunshine" is absolutely one of the BEST movies I have ever seen.

hehehe, I watching Bridget Jones, The Edge of Reason. Yesterday and it was actually really good, worth a watch, it's a good laugh, even if there is a soppy ending (oh and have a look at the ending, the kids are PLAYING in the graveyard?! huh??)
