go to a city hall/divorce court... there are forms for I think $300-400 and you just fill them up and file it with them... that easy!

You should speak with a lawyer because every state has different divorce laws. Many attorneys do free consultations and will even do an "uncontested" divorce for a reasonably low fee. They will draw up all the papers, including a Marital Settlement Agreement, and go with you to your final hearing. If you didn't want to get an attorney, many local courts have a divorce self-help packet which provides you with all the necessary pleadings that need to be filed in order to obtain a divorce. If you are savvy with paperwork, this can be a very cheap alternative. Good Luck.

Get the paper work from the court house and fill it out. They have information sessions sometimes.
Get a paralegal or go to the same lawyer and get it done that way. You just want to make sure that nothing is left undone for the future like legal things. Hope this helps o.k.

Non contested, of course. Buy the do it yourself divorce packet, fill it out together, go to the court house and file it with a clerk and wait for a court date. Simple, huh? Too simple. It should be harder to get married, don't you think?!

Do the paperwork up yourselves. The court house can help you with the guide lines on what to fill out and how to do it and how to submit it. Save the money of the lawyer. I think all you need to do on the side is get it notarized.

Don't let the lawyers get involved. Go to mediation and just use the lawyers if to draw up the legal agreements. If you let the lawyers in your cause is lost.

I really don't believe a "cheap divorce" actually exists.
