Good friends just happen along in life. You can try to pick and choose your friends but the best friends just seem to happen. A friend who will stand beside you no matter what just can't be picked out of a crowd. Friends will always be everyday people that you run into from time to time and after a while you just become friends. A good friend is a blessing. You can try all you want to be someone's friend, but friends you have to work so hard to please will never be a best friend when you need one.
Choose friends that you have interests in common with, like art, music, hobbies or educational goals. You might choose study friends, work friends, or club friends. Good friends sometimes show just how good a friend they are in times of crisis, but go their own way when you are doing well on your own. At the same time, being a good friend to someone who needs help, whether you have ever been their friend before, is a good way to touch the life of a new friend.
If you choose friends based on what a person can do for you and not what you can do for them, your friendships will always be lopsided. A friendship that is shared, is sometimes lopsided but always rewarding.

To choose a good friend, you have to witness bad friends. If so, it would be easily picking out good folks. And I guess from your question that you are fed up of bad folks then you are easily getting close to what you need. Little time and a good friend would rise and shine :)
Good Luck.

You need to first find friends before you can identify which one(s) of them is a good friend. With this your mind set ab-initio, you'll end up finding faults with each of your potential friends, and this can only lead to just one thing - back to square 1.

I'M SORRY BUT THIS QUESTION WHICH U HAVE ASKED IS NOT VERY RELEVANT AS ALL FRIENDS ARE GOOD. ITS JUST INTERNAL DISTURBANCES OF THEIR MAKE THEM GREEDY OR MEAN. TO CHOOSE GOOD FRIENDS NOTICE THEIR BEHAVIOUR AND AFTER NOTICING, IF THEY ARE GOOD AND HELPFUL THEN ASK FOR FRIENDSHIP. ALWAYS SHOW TO THEM THAT YOU R HELPFUL, INTERESTING, INTELLIGENT, AND ALL OTHER GOOD QUALITIES OF YOURS WHICH U CAN SHOW.
THEN SEE THE MAGIC WILL WORK SOON...................!

A friend should be positive, loyal, unselfish, and care for you unconditionally. Find this person and you will have a true friend.
