My windows updated some programs called for most the cases "XP HOTFIX" since 2005. I recieved the last update last thursday but now i am wondering if i should delete the previous update( found using the control panel window) or leave them ...and if i did delete them what could happen? Are they taking up space on my hard drive?
I could give more details if required but thanks to all of you who will answer me !

Each Hot Fix addresses a different security hole or operational issue with the program. If you remove a hotfix it will remove the patches associated with it and more than likely the next time you get an auto update it will be reinstalled. They are using space on your hard drive though. The amount should be reported in the add/remove programs window.

I would just let windows update do whatever it likes. If there is any redundancy then I doubt if it takes up much space.

In short: not broken, don't fix it.

So I would just leave it as is and hopefully any problems will be sorted out by your next format/reinstall (whenever that is needed)

Thursday's was an update to patch a security window in the one you installed. Okay to run with it on-board.

No you can't delete the updates, because that is what they are updates you delete them and your programs will not work right.
