Just leave her to it, she will walk when she wants to......my twins didn't walk until they were 15 months old but my other daughter was walking at nine months!! My friends daughter didn't walk until she was 20 months.
All children are different and do things in their own time and at their own pace.
Once they are walking, it brings a whole new set of problems with it so I would make the most of it while you can lol

Have you ever seen a child over the age of two that cannot walk? The answers is no! Unless of course the child has a disability.
Its like the whole toilet training thing, you will almost never see a child that is still in huggies when they start school aswell! Children will learn to walk, talk go to the toilet when they are good and ready! Don't let other parents tell you that their child was walking at 9 months therfore yours should too! Your daughter will walk soon trust me! Then you are in for some fun and miss the days when she didn't!

I know my daughter was greatly encouraged to walk by using a push toy. We found a Mikey Mouse push toy car which she loved pushing around the room and outside (you can even adjust the resistance for non-walkers so they don`t fall down!
Very soon she started walking on her own. She now loves to push around a baby sized stroller and still loves the to push the mikey mouse car around the yard!
Also, if your child is exposed to other children her own age, it may give her some encouragement.
If none of these things work, don`t worry, she will be walking in no time.

If she's already standing up on her own, that's a good sign. Walking will come faster than you know. It's all a matter of balance. If you take your daughter to the pediatrician regularly and get the ears checked (to make sure there isn't an ear infection, which would affect balance), then I wouldn't worry.

i am a childcarer but have no kids myself i read all the other anwers and their on the right track every child is different i know some kids who are are 2 and are only just walking so just stick it out - another idea is one of those walkers, but be sure not to put your child in it if you are not willing to watch her at all times e.g dont go off and leave her in the next room whilst you make a cuppa or whatever. i have heard of kids getting hurt whilst in them when their parents go off for a few seconds while watching constantly is fine also number one rule with walkers never use in the driveway when you aint there even if its fenced off - kids are smart and can manage almost anything. - hope this helps :)

Don't force her she will go when she is good and ready my son was 19 months before he started walking . We had been referred to see a consultant and to get hip scans to ensure nothing was preventing him from walking and he started the day after the appointment cards came through - he just wanted to go in his own time was all.

As a parent of three, grandma to four, and a nursery nurse, I would say don't worry. Your daughter is well on her way to walking. She is progressing in the way you would expect. My son did all those things, and frightened the life out of me by one day just walking across the room!!! Let it happen naturally. It will, and sooner than you think.

I had the same problem. My friend suggested wrapping a towel around and under his arms, then hold each end so that baby is facing forward and you are right behind her. Everytime she leans too much forward or backwards, you can catch her. It worked for me. About a week later, he was walking like a pro. =)

My son was quite encourage with walking, but if you take your daughter to a play group where other kids run and play, maybe she will get encouragement from this. But dont worry, she will just do it on her own time when she has the confidence. But a new environment might help, especially watching other kids.

hey please dont worry about it she will walk when she is ready. She is obviosly showing no problems as he is walking around the sofa give her time she will do it when she is ready. Diong this will put your child off.
Al though if you are set on helping her you can get you and a partner or friend to sit a little distant apart and call he that way it makes it exciting for your child.
Good luck
