I was working late in my gallery with a small TV set on watching Monday night football. My heart sunk and I felt angry, had to close the gallery and go home. Sat in front of the TV for the rest of the night, numb. Such a waste, such a terrible waste

Like millions of Americans I was watching Monday Night Football. I was only 9 years old, and I can still remember Howard Cosell speaking of the "unspeakable tragedy". I was too young then to fully understand Lennon's music. I understand much better now.

I was working getting the food ready for a party that night at the pub I ran. It was lunchtime and we were busy serving lunches too. All the Barstaff and some customers were in tears and we had to put the telly on in the bar and a radio on in the lounge for the customers to hear the news.

I was standing in the hallway outside a classroom at the University of Alabama. We were all waiting around to take a final exam and someone came in with the news. We just couldn't believe it. I don't remember what final I was taking but I remember that I couldn't even concentrate.

I was two when it happened. I only found out about it later (say, age 13 or so,) when I got into music and became interested in the lives led by the artists themselves.

I was 13. My best friend called me and told me he was shot and killed and I said "Who?" Funny...........I think I got caught up in the sadness and sorrow about it , just because everybody else around me was.

Ready to pop out of my mam's womb any day!! I remember where I was when Princess Diana died though. I was hammered at my mate's bbq and we had just gone to bed, when her mum came in and told us... "Di's died and Dodi's dead as a dodo!"
