My brother is a C++ programmer who knows more about computers and technology than any one I have ever met and he says Norton is best, so I believe him. On the other hand you can get AVG for free although the interface is a little strange.

All of these anti-virus programs are reactive programs. This means they tell you once you have gotten a virus and then try to remove it. The best anti-virus that I have found is Trend Micro PC-Cillin. It is a proactive anti-virus. It will help stop viruses from being installed instead of waiting for them to install and then trying to remove them. It has also been rated higher in most reviews that I have seen. A single license version is available for $39.99.

AVG is the best free one.

Kaspersky is the best ever, but it doesn't come very cheap. I *can* offer a little rebate for Kaspersky internet security (not much tho, mail me), but it still is expensive.
