looking to make a 14th century style long bow or recurve bow

Yew is the best for a longbow, and you can laminate ash strips with poplar to make a fine composite material for a recurve.
The wood must be properly prepared, and without flaw. A defective bow can be lethal.

Osage Orange is the best wood for a bow. And it is a beautiful wood also.
