Is there anyway I can use other fonts than the pre-installed fonts when working on Blogger

Yes there is indeed. But if the computer in which your blog is browsed has not that font than it will switch back to default. So why spend your time by making something that others cannot see ?
Edit: Oh sorry if you mean to change the font in general you can alter the font-family in the css or if you use tag then you can set it in there. The sources below will show you what fonts you can safely use.

Yes.
Modify the css (the theme) and in font-family property (search for them) write your preferred font (the same name that appear in your word program for example)
