Primarily, we need the concept of time for the purpose of organizing (schedules etc, diurnal rhytmn)
secondarily, the concept of time is necessary to sub-categorize our past life, present, and future into periods. We look at th time in our past when we we were younger, the good decisions we made as well as the bad. Though some people say never look back at the past, i think inculcating in our minds the things, events, decisions we made or happened in the past affect us who are in our present life. Our future, in this matter, we can't really say in certainty what the it holds for us, but at least we have our own ideas (dreams, hopes) what we want to happen in our upcoming certain period of time called future.
And lastly concept of time is important to coordinate with the rest of the world. We are all living in different time zones, so this should be an answer for proper coordination.

We are human beings and we are creatures of time. It cannot be ignored because we age from birth and infancy on up to adulthood. We cannot physically escape the consequence of time on our bodies. It was given to us by our parents and we will use it now and give it our children.

The "why we need it" has been answered by many on this board. We need it to complete what we need to do for others and ourselves. If the appointment is for many at the same time, we coordinate our time pieces to that end. If the time is for our self we choose to do what we want or have to do.

We live a linear existence. The concept of time isn't something learned, but something we can't live without.

Time is a philosophical precept. 'Time' is used as a measurement for humankind's achievements and losses.
Without time we would be unable to realize the breadth of casualties in war, or how quickly we make a friend.
